Tis The Season

I have been getting almost nothing done lately! The Christmas shopping is barely started, the house needs cleaned before it gets decorated. Have accomplished very little knitting and very little reading... Ahhh well, next week!
Did finish these cute little wristwarmers. The pattern is Voodoo Wrist Warmers and were quick, easy, mindless knitting. Done on size 5 circs with Knit Picks Swish Superwash in Indigo Heather. Nice yarn and these will serve my purpose well.

Irish Hiking Scarf

Finished the Irish Hiking Scarf which will be a Christmas present for my wonderful hubby. Fortunately, I don't have to worry about him reading this!!

This was a nice, easy pattern made will double strands of Bucilla Mirage on size 8 needles. I have gotten so used to wool that this yarn seems almost slimey. It will probably be awhile before I use acrylic again... but it will definitely serve its purpose!

Second Pair Done!!!

Finally finished my Thuja socks!! They were done on size 4 circs with Artyarns Supermerino colorway 105. I love this color, I love doing socks on 2 circulars BUT my kitchener definitely needs some help! Oh well, try try again.... Fit is great. This pair was about 7.5 spi. I still want a heavier pair. Not sure if I should drop to a 2 or 3 needle with a worsted weight yarn. Spend a lot of time outside and regardless of the weather, wear my Birkies so warm socks are a must.

Drinking From My Saucer

I've never made a fortune, and it's probably too late now.
But I don't worry about that much,
I'm happy anyhow
And as I go along life's way,
I'm reaping better than I sowed.
I'm drinking from my saucer,
'Cause my cup has overflowed.

Haven't got a lot of riches,
and sometimes the going's tough
But I've got loving ones all around me,
and that makes me rich enough.

I thank God for his blessings,
and the mercies He's bestowed.
I'm drinking from my saucer,
'Cause my cup has overflowed

I remember times when things went wrong,
My faith wore somewhat thin.
But all at once the dark clouds broke,
and the sun peeped through again.

If God gives me strength and courage,
When the way grows steep and rough.
I'll not ask for other blessings,
I'm already blessed enough.

And may I never be too busy,
to help others bear their loads.
Then I'll keep drinking from my saucer,
'Cause my cup has overflowed.

The Internet Personality Test

I don't think I have taken a personality test since... well probably never. Someone sent me this and I was bored-

You Are An ESTJ
The Guardian
You're a natural leader and quick, logical decision maker.Goals are important in your life, and you take many steps to acheive them. You enjoy interacting with others, mostly through work related activities.Your high energy level means you are great at getting things done!
In love, you tend to bring stability to relationships. You feel comfortable being in charge, and you enjoy being a provider.
At work, you take charge. You thrive in structured environments and don't mind enforcing the rules. You would make a great teacher, judge, or police detective.
How you see yourself: Realistic, stable, and pragmatic
When other people don't get you, they see you as: Rigid, bound to rules, and a bad listener

I DID IT!.. First Ever Socks

I finally finished my first ever pair of socks!! They were done toe up with Knit Picks Essential Tweed in the Marina colorway. I used 2 size 3 circulars-next time will use 2's. Fit is pretty good, there are a few mistakes, mostly just stupid ones.

Am thankful for the Queen Kahuna Crazy Toes and Heels book. It gave me enough confidence to start knitting the socks (although I only did one at a time!), but I found it a little confusing to follow. Now I am hooked! Am waiting for some new Knit Picks needles to start the next pair!

Finally.. A Finished Project To Post

This was a lovely, easy scarf pattern that I found on the internet. It is the Wave Scarf. Used Noro Blossom in Color 16. The pictures don't do this one justice.

Local Yarn Store

All right, I am totally disgusted. Made a special trip to my local yarn shop for Tofutsies and a knitting gauge-since I have mixed up all of my wonderful Knit Picks circs. Of course, no Tofutsies... and even worse, they had never heard of it! My knitting gauge, alas, I was told to go to JoAnn Fabrics. This is why the Internet is my favorite way to shop!

Gone But Never Forgotten

On July 3rd 2007, Staff Sergeant Joshua Brandon Farnsworth, 32, was taken by the angels at his residence. Josh was an explosive military working dog handler in the United States Air Force at Fairchild AFB, Washington and also served in the United States Marine Corps as Military Police at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina and Okinawa, Japan. He served overseas in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qutar, and two tours in Iraq and received over a dozen awards. Josh was born in Medford, Oregon and was a 1992 graduate of North Medford High School.Josh was somebody you could never forget after meeting once. He had the most amazing ability to make someone laugh. He had a perfect ability to teach people. Josh was a friend to all and a hero to many. The Air Force has lost a valued member, his friends have lost a cherished friend, and his family has lost a piece of their hearts.Josh is survived by his wife, Laura Farnsworth of Spokane, Washington; his daughter Bryden Farnsworth, of Bend, Oregon; his mother Rhonda Farnsworth, of Bend, Oregon; his father Don Wilson, of Beaverton, Oregon; his step-father Thom Farnsworth, of Bend, Oregon; his sister Sarah Farnsworth, of Medford, Oregon, his sister Vanessa Farnsworth, of Bend, Oregon; his brother, Victor Farnsworth, of Bend, Oregon; his brother Brian Farnsworth, of Bend, Oregon; his nephew Noah, of Medford, Oregon; and his military working dog, Eesau.

Josh was my friend and my son-in-law. He is greatly missed!

Okay It Is My Turn....

All right, I have decided to break down and create my own blog, somewhat unwillingly! Is there time to do just one more thing... does it mean I will have to give up doing something else that I enjoy?? Guess I will have to wait and see.
